Buying push bikes

The rain season is definitely here and everyday at about one o'clock you can here the rain coming. It's actually pretty scary. Suddenly, the wind changes and you can imagine one of these voices in horror films going 'it's coming...' At that point, better be ready to run.
So that's why we're toying with the idea of buying push-bikes. After ten hours at work, the last thing you want to do is waiting by the side of the road for a minibus for up to another hour. Especially if it's raining! There are plenty of express buses going to Kigali, but they're not supposed to stop on the way, and the little ones are pretty random and often don't have free seats. However, you can always see some pushbike taxis, all decorated with ribbons, flowers and fancy cushions on the back seat. Hence, our idea of buying a couple of bicycles to ride home (it's only about 6km!) We've found out that you can get them from the nearby market of Base, but everytime we mention our idea to someone, they just burst out laughing! They seem to find it really really funny! I don't know, maybe they think abazungu can only travel in the back seat of 4x4s...
